La Rouge Classes FAQ’s
How do I purchase and activate a class package?
All packages must be purchased via our official booking platform, OCTIV. Packages are activated once full payment is processed. Please allow up to 48 hours for activation of EFT or in-studio payments.
How long are class packages valid?
- Monthly Memberships: 1 calendar month from purchase. You cannot book classes on the last day of the package.
- Free Flow Package: 3 months from purchase.
- Drop-in & Private Lessons: 1 week.
- Trial Classes: 2 weeks from purchase, can only be purchased once.
Do memberships renew automatically?
No, memberships do not auto-renew. You must log into OCTIV and purchase a new package when your current one expires.
How far in advance can I book classes?
You may pre-book classes up to 1 month in advance. Booking early is strongly recommended to secure your preferred spots.
What is the cancellation policy?
Classes can be cancelled up to 1.5 hours before the start time. Cancelled classes will be returned to your package for rebooking. Late cancellations or missed classes are deducted from your package.
What if I book the wrong class or location?
You are responsible for booking the correct class and location. No credits or refunds will be issued for incorrect bookings.
What happens if my regular teacher is unavailable?
From time to time, we may assign a substitute teacher. Updates will be posted in the app. If a class must be cancelled, your class credit will be returned, and your package validity extended if necessary.
Can classes be missed or paused?
Packages cannot be paused or extended except for exceptional circumstances (medical, family emergencies, or sick leave). Holds can be placed for 1 week to 1 month, once per month. Credit will not be offered for absences shorter than 1 week.
Can I attend any class at any time?
You may schedule sessions on any day, time, or location (subject to availability) within your package’s validity. You are not required to attend the same class weekly.
Are there public holiday adjustments?
All classes are cancelled on public holidays unless otherwise announced. Packages are not extended for public holidays.
Can I get a refund?
No refunds are issued for any packages. Please ensure your availability before purchasing.
Will I receive updates about my classes and studio news?
Yes! The OCTIV app will immediately notify you of any changes to classes you have already booked. Also by signing up as a member, you also agree to receive emails and whatsapp messages with schedule updates and important notifications. To opt-out, email info@larouge.co.za.
Studio & Class Policies
What must I wear to class?
- Aerial Classes: Full coverage to avoid burns and bruises.
- Pole Classes: Shorts above the knee and high on the thigh for grip; socks optional, no shoes required.
- Burlesque & Dance: Wear anything comfortable; dance heels optional, knee guards may be required.
- Pole Exotic: Knee guards and socks recommended if you don’t have heels. Start with socks before purchasing heels.
Is equipment provided?
Yes! All aerial equipment, poles, sanitizers, pole towels, resin, and chairs are provided. Aerial crash mats are provided for each aerial point. You may be required to share apparatus if the class is full.
What about hygiene and cleanliness?
Arrive freshly showered with clean feet and body. Bring a sweat towel if needed. Wipe down equipment after use with provided sanitizers and towels. All floors are laminated and cleaned daily; shoes must be left at the door.
Can I take photos or videos?
Yes! You may photograph or film yourself freely. Classes may be filmed for social media—please advise your instructor if you do not wish to appear. Recording of other students or instructors requires permission.
Are there studio facilities?
All studios have bathrooms, change rooms, and cubbyholes for personal belongings. Some studios have a wash basin or shower on request. Safe parking is available.
Is there an age or weight limit?
There is no age limit and a maximum weight of 100kg. No prior upper-body strength is required—you will learn as you go.
What about class structure and instruction?
No strict syllabus—you can join anytime. Movements may carry over week-to-week; instructors adjust to your level. Only listen to your qualified instructor—do not take guidance from anyone else.
Who can attend classes?
Classes are for women and queens only—no men allowed.
Are there extra services or products available?
- Fitness clothing, knee guards, grip aids, and bottled water are available for purchase in-studio.
- Private “Girls’ Night” packages and studio rentals are available—studio rental does not include instructor supervision.
- Studio rental is available to current students at a reduced rate for practice. Studio rental does not include instructor supervision—only attempt moves you have already practiced safely.
- Yoga mats are not provided.
Studio rules for safety and comfort
- No food in studio; drinks and water only.
- No alcohol or intoxication—your instructor may turn you away.
- Studios open at least 15 minutes before class for setup. Students are encouraged to learn to set up apparatus safely.
- Poles are 40–48mm thick, powder-coated, and can switch between static and spinning.
- Gear is washed and checked regularly for safety and hygiene.
